Harnessing Australia’s Natural Resources

To Deliver Sustainable Energy and Food Security

Empowering Sustainable Energy

Who we are

Circular Bioeconomy Specialists

Welcome to BIOENERGY GROUP, a pioneering force in sustainable energy solutions including a team with decades of experience across the renewables sector. Our expertise lies in the design, construction, and optimisation of advanced Anaerobic Digestion technologies coupled with organic farming practices to deliver green energy and increased food production across Australia.

What we do

At BIOENERGY GROUP, we drive the transformation of agricultural waste into a valuable resource. Through the power of Anaerobic Digestion, we harness the potential of biodegradable materials to generate renewable energy and reduce environmental impact.

In 2023, natural gas consumption in Australia amounted to approximately 40.1 billion cubic meters, in addition to significant export volume. Biomethane has the potential to displace a large percentage of natural gas supporting the decarbonisation transition nationally.

The Market

Beyond installation, utilising our unique circular and integrated operational model we continuously fine-tune and optimise the anaerobic digestion process to maximise the volume and quality of all outputs. This allows us to guarantee a constant source of sustainable energy to our clients without interruption or the requirement for mass storage.

Process Optimization

The process of anaerobic digestion creates Biomethane, biogenic CO2 and organic biofertiliser. Biomethane is a direct replacement for natural gas, biogenic CO2 is a critical component in the transition to e-fuels and organic biofertiliser is the key to eliminating chemical fertilisers, increasing yield and sequestering carbon in the soil.

Products

According to the United Nations Environment Program, anaerobic digestion and biogas technologies make a significant contribution through generating ultra-low carbon energy and biofertiliser delivering energy and food security. Evidence supports the need for wide adoption of anaerobic digestion and biogas technologies in order to meet the UNFCCC COP 21 Commitments and UN Sustainable Development Goals. With the ability to reduce global GHG emissions alone by close to 20%, the potential of these technologies to contribute to a sustainable and carbon neutral future is immense.

Global Demand

Our European technology partner leads the market with over 200 anaerobic digestion facilities built, commissioned and operational across western Europe. This partnership enables Bioenergy Group to replicate the successes across the northern hemisphere in Australia and Asia-Pacific. This unique technology maximises uptime and all but eliminates the manual interventions historically required in operations and maintenance.

Partners

*The federal government says Australia has enough feedstock (landfill, waste water, crop residues) to see biomethane account for 23 per cent of the total pipeline gas market by 2030. In Austria approximately 50% of all gas consumed is derived from anaerobic digestion. In 2022 there were nearly 19,500 Biogas plants in Europe and over 1,300 Biomethane plants, 75% of which were connected to gas grids.

What is Possible

Our Circular Bioeconomy Model

Bioenergy Group’s innovative approach to integrating R-CNG in the production of both food and forage crops showcase a sustainable model for modern agriculture. By enhancing soil health, optimising crop rotation, and obtaining organic certification, Bioenergy Group not only increase agricultural productivity but also contribute positively to the food vs fuel debate
